Couple new items

I should be doing much more than I am today. Hubby took the kids out and it's the prime time to clean and cook. I decided instead to throw some chicken in the crockpot and sit my bottom down to do some beads. I did the necklace yesterday but did the set today. I take it apart and redo until I like the outcome so it takes me awhile to do a piece. If I'm just goofing around I can get more done, but this was a specific order so I wanted to be proud of it first.

Now I'm off to do something else!

I made a bracelet/earring set awhile back and I hadn't sold it so I started wearing the bracelet, I really like it. I thought I'd make a necklace to match so I just put together this pretty quickly.

I have an order to fill for a black and red chunky but nice necklace for someone I work with. She'd seen my daisy set and liked how the shapes went together. It took me awhile to find the black onyx I wanted to use. I found the red/black beads at the show and I'm pretty sure they are glass. They are so pretty more so than the garnet and coral I found.

Jewelry stuff

I'm having a site built right now for my jewelry (thank you Cole!) and I'm trying to find good pictures or take some, even. I'm not that great at it, but here are some examples, these aren't my best pieces, I'm proud to say my best work is sold at the moment.

This is some carnelian and some wicked stones I got at my last 'bead show' I ventured out to. I found this great fauceted carnelian ring to go with it. The daisy's I found at store that I just kept circling and coming back to, I had to get them. I love daisies.

This is more carnelian because it seems to go with everything. Along with some unakite you can't go wrong. I found these jade colored stones, too and it just goes together so well. I admit to wearing this set often. I just love it. So, yes it's mine.

And this one is put together with several things I took apart from pieces I found and put together. I just love it for it's funkiness.

And this is my ZEBRA bracelet. A little bit of smokey quartz, lacy agate and I'm not sure what the black/white stuff is, I should pay more attention when I buy, but I get excited.

Today is my 10th Wedding Anniversary

Time flies by. I got a great bouquet of wild flowers and sunflowers. I got a witty card that was super sweet and my favorite: a bag of pistacio/almond/cashew mix because my wonderful husband said, 'I'm nuts for you'. Gotta love him.

Ten years is quite awhile! We originally met as teenagers in West Texas. Our fathers were in the Air Force and we lived near eachother on base housing. I was introduced to him by my best friend. He looked like the lead singer of Simply Red with his cool 80/90's hairdo. Years later, we met up again and a friendship started and eventually what he calls Hot Monkey Love. I'm sure it was just like that too. I remember the ackward first 'I love you' when he was putting air in my tires.

Now here we are 12 years later, married, kids, house and pets. Can't ask for anything more. Except maybe sleep.

New to Blogging

Figured I'd start by introducing myself. I love to start projects, it's finishing them that I have a hard time with. I start crocheted items, put them away. I have a stack of granny squares but fell out of love with the colors I was using. I am doing some booties but never sent them out. I have a dishcloth started on some knitting needles and a baby blanket I HAVE to finish for a baby due this month. I have a huge tote full of yarn, I love yarn. I can't help it.

I also make jewelry. I LOVE beads. I'm addicted to them. I buy so many of them, I have them stacked everywhere. I buy what I like and then end up buying something totally different for an order I've been given. I chose my business name One of a Kind - Dena's Design but so far most of it's been a custom order however, I refuse to do another just like it (however, if you have twins, I'd probably revisit that policy).

I sell Scentsy candles which I LOVE. I love them because they are safe for fire hazards like me.

I love reading other people's blogs and how they are so great at writing. Don't expect the same wit from me, you will be disappointed.
